About carfree.club

carfree.club is an independent community project built to help Australians drive less. It grew out of a personal experience — the process of realising that most of my car trips were habits, not necessities, and that replacing them one by one made daily life genuinely better.

The site exists because the case for driving less is often made badly — either as a moralistic argument about climate change, or as a fantasy of car-free utopias that feel irrelevant to people living in ordinary Australian suburbs. The goal here is to make a practical, honest case that works for real people in real places. Not car-free evangelism — just a nudge to drive a little less, starting now.

carfree.club is not affiliated with any government agency, cycling advocacy organisation, transport company, or commercial interest. It's not trying to sell you anything. If something on the site is inaccurate or out of date, or if you have a story worth sharing, please get in touch.
